Say what you want about Missouri, but the Show Me State does not lack character or characters. If you'd like proof of that, behold 10 of the most weird and wonderful roadside attractions you really shouldn't miss.

I was born very near one of these Missouri roadside attractions, but it's probably not the one you would guess. If you're traveling to or through Missouri this year, you really should consider checking out as many of these awesome attractions if you can make the time. Some of these stops are world-famous, but others are a bit more obscure. All are worth your time and trouble to get there.

I love the constant tongue-in-cheek humor from places like Uranus, Missouri which is almost a complete town unto itself. Meramec Caverns is one of the favorite caves I've visited and I was born just blocks away from the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum, but don't hold that fact against them. These are just a few of the examples of why Missouri never stops offering interesting places to visit. You just need the time and energy to be willing to look hard enough to discover them. They don't call Missouri the Show Me State for nothing.
