Some people enjoy being alone. Did you know that there are only 2 Missouri places that have a population of just 1 person?

World Population Review has a new ranking of the Missouri places with the biggest populations. I'm frankly not interested in the cities and towns with the most people. What I found interesting are the two towns/cities/communities or whatever you want to call them that only have 1 person living there.

There is no doubt in my mind that whoever lives here has German ancestry. It's located at Lake of the Ozarks

There's a bit of controversy with this one. World Population Review says that as of the 2020 census, it has a population of 1, but Wikipedia says Friedenswald now has a population of 2. Did someone make a new friend?

St Catharine, Missouri

Big time disagreement over the real population of St. Catharine, Missouri. World Population Review says there is only 1 person there. Wikipedia says 78. Did the lone resident of St. Catharine just have the most epic party ever? Hey, it's possible. St. Catharine actually has a ton of history for being such a small place. It used to be a stagecoach stop between Hannibal and Saint Joseph in the 1800's.

It doesn't really matter which population count is correct. Both are very small Missouri places, but it shows that even one lone person can make a big difference (by having their own unincorporated village).
