My dad was a World War II veteran who served as a military police officer in Japan at the end of the war. My uncle was a Colonel in the Missouri National Guard who ran for the state house more than 40 years ago. I was raised to honor those who serve currently and those who have defended America in the past along with remembering those who paid the ultimate price to keep us free. I am just one of many in Missouri that can say that.
