Major Motion Picture Western Being Filmed in Southern Missouri
There are movie stars in our midst - sort of. There's a rather significant movie western being filmed right now in southern Missouri and I have video and other information to prove it.
I would like to thank my sharp-eyed friends on the Missouri sub-Reddit for sharing this. They shared a picture from a major motion picture production that's currently being filmed in southern Missouri called "Down the Long River". Here's the synopsis from IMDb:
"In the aftermath of the Civil War, a former Army surgeon, a notorious gang, and a duplicitous Pinkerton agent cross paths in a tiny river town. When revenge and a fortune in gold are at stake, the town is caught in the crossfire."
This short trailer doesn't reveal much and it's actually kind of gory, so be warned before hitting that "play" button.
Matt Cordona of WWE fame is one of the main stars of this flick. Felissa Rose who was in the 1983 thriller Sleepaway Camp is also a part of this production.
It looks like this movie was at least partially crowd-funded and even though the campaign is closed, it did include a longer video explaining what this movie is hoping to do.
Will this be the next "Unforgiven" or "Tombstone"? I suppose time will tell, but once it's in theaters, you can tell your friends it was filmed practically in your Missouri backyard.
