A mother and daughter who were traveling down a highway in Missouri spotted a light in the sky before it was dark enough to see stars. The object then made movements that led them to believe they were not witnessing a conventional aircraft.

This new report shared to the National UFO Reporting Center happened on February 4, 2026 around 5:10pm in Linn Creek, Missouri. Here's a part of their eyewitness testimony about what they saw:

"Driving along we saw it, as we went behind trees it ascended rapidly. Watched it move unnaturally - My daughter and I were driving and noticed a silver shaped ball in the sky. My daughter asked if that was a star and I told her that it was way too bright outside for us to be able to see any stars. It was around 5:10 PM in Missouri on February 4, 2026. We watched it for a few seconds and as we drove past a small patch of trees, may have been about 3 to 4 seconds, and looked, and it was gone."

They go on to say that the object came back into their site a few moments later at a much higher altitude where they saw it quickly move for another 10 seconds before disappearing. This happened as they were driving on Highway 54 near Linn Creek which would have been approximately here.

It would be hard to see any significant stars driving around dusk in that part of Missouri. The fact that the bright light they saw achieved such a high altitude so quickly also means they didn't see a normal aircraft that we know of. Whiteman Air Force Base is located a couple hours away to the northwest which should be considered, but that still doesn't explain the type of object this Missouri mother and daughter saw or what it's intentions might have been.
