I am a big fan of places that have a slow pace of life. That's why I the Missouri town just named the most laid back in the state would fit me like a glove, but it's also known for an annual super-fun event, too.

Is this what you imagine when you think of a laid back Missouri place?

This is the downtown area of little ole Hermann, Missouri just named the most laid back town in the state by World Atlas. They rightfully praise Hermann for being in the middle of wine country in Missouri which certainly helps the laid back vibe a lot along with the historical caboose museum.

What I find a little ironic is the praise for Hermann as the most laid back town in Missouri comes from an article that also mentions the rowdy Oktoberfest celebration that Hermann has become famous for and it's not really laid back at all (and that's meant as a compliment).

I love it when Missouri's small towns get a national shout out. The truth is that Missouri has MANY small towns that don't have a fast-paced lifestyle that often get overlooked. Rocheport and others deserve the national attention they're finally getting. Cheers.
