Urgent Missouri & Illinois Salad Recall Due to Serious Reactions
I was always told that eating salad is good for you and I don't doubt that's still true. However, there is now an urgent recall of those green leaf products due to a potentially serious reaction due to a just-discovered ingredient.
The Food and Drug Administration just released a bulletin for a very popular chain's salad which has been discovered to have an ingredient that it's not supposed to included in the package. If you eat this salad and have a milk allergy, this is what can happen.
The salad being recalled is this one from Trader Joe locations in Missouri and Illinois. It's supposed to have crispy onions inside, but has a packet of parmesan cheese instead.
The FDA bulletin says this salad "was produced by Taylor Fresh Foods Illinois, has the Use By date of April 28, 2025 and April 29, 2025". The good news is that if you don't have a milk allergy, you're fine to eat this salad. If you do have a milk allergy, you can just return them to the Trader Joe's location that you picked it up from for a full refund. Check out the full FDA bulletin for more details.
