Generally speaking, Red Dye 3 has been used as a food coloring for everything from red candy hearts to strawberry milk and many other snacks that most of us grew up with. Please note that many of these companies are actively working to replace the products listed with compliant snacks that do not include the villainous Red Dye 3. It's also worth noting that the FDA ruling allows these companies a full 3 years to rework their products.

What's the problem with Red Dye 3?

As many medical sites have reported, Red Dye 3 is believed to cause cancer and was banned in cosmetics years ago. Time will tell what replacement ingredients will take the place of the now banned ingredient as you know these snacks will not completely go away.
