We are getting close to another major weather event and it's a certainty that most of Missouri and Illinois will be impacted. The only question right now is what will hit where. There is a new advisory from NOAA meteorologists warning of specific parts of both states that are most likely to see tornadoes Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

I just saw this update from meteorologist Travis Roberts as he spotted new warnings from the NOAA Storm Prediction Center about incredibly strong thunderstorms that are expected to escalate Wednesday afternoon and evening. Let's begin with the most serious. The yellow "hatched" area on the map shows locations most likely to see thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes.

That aligns with many of the same areas that can expect wind damage Wednesday.

The scary thing about this incoming storm is the risk seems to be becoming greater the closer it gets and the more computer models begin to look at up-to-date data.

The most volatile weather appears to be expected late Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night, but severe storms are possible all day. Make sure you have a way to receive NWS warnings if/when severe storms develop. It's likely to be a bumpy ride in the middle of the week for weather.
