Missouri Humane Society Rescues Over 40 Dogs From Puppy Mill

As a dog lover, and for that matter animal lover, this story breaks my heart, and hope there is a happy ending for all the puppies.

Over 40 puppies, ranging from newborn to adult age, have been rescued from a puppy mill in Southern Missouri. This is not the first time the puppy mill has been in trouble with Missouri Animal Cruelty Task Force, They have been on the task's force radar since the summer of 2019.

According to the Humane Society, some of the breeds that were rescued include Irish Terriers, Schnauzers, Cairn Terriers, and Yorkies. The puppy mill (known as the Cedarcrest Kennel) has lost its "hobby or show" breeder license, permanently revoked. In a press release from the president of the Humane Society of Missouri Kathy Warnick,

“The dogs and their pups now have a chance to finally live a normal life instead of being forced to produce litter after litter of puppies for profit,”

The task force travels more than 350,000 miles, has reported more than 10,000 abuse/neglect cases, and has helped over 20,000 animals find better lives.

Personally, I hope all of these pups both young and old find happy fur-ever homes and can have a happy life from here on out. It's really a good feeling knowing that they will be placed in happy homes and taken care of. There are so many of these puppy mills around, if you witness any cruelty to animals please contact your local humane society, and always remember to adopt not shop when looking for a new member of the family.
