Missouri Hospital Warns of Possible Mass Layoff of 213

Authorities in Missouri have been notified by a hospital system of a potential mass layoff of 213 employees as a sale of the facilities is imminent.

The Missouri Jobs site has just posted a new WARN notice they received from the Saint Francis Healthcare System Poplar Bluff Operations located at 219 and 225 Physicians Park in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. In a letter submitted by the vice president of human resources, it says that the facilities are being sold to Big Springs Medical Association, Inc. who do business as Missouri Highlands Health Care. They have their own hiring process which means that no current employees are guaranteed to have their jobs once the sale is complete. They shared the following statement to the state of Missouri:

"All potentially affected employees have been notified of the sale, have been notified about Missouri Highland’s hiring process and have been notified of the potential for a permanent employment loss."

Their human resources VP went on to say that they do not know how many employees will be permanently affected by this sale, but the potential is for all 213 to lose their jobs. This new round of potential layoffs would bring the total who have lost jobs in Missouri this year to 4,783 if this mass layoff happens.
