
Parts of Missouri Being Warned of Potential for 10 Inches of Rain
If you live in some parts of Missouri, you might want to have a raft handy. There are areas that are being warned of the potential of 10 inches or more of rain this week and very likely flash flooding events.
The National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri has a special discussion about multiple storms and heavy rainfall that will impact Missouri this week. The 5+ inches of rain does not show the complete story for parts of southern Missouri.
It's when you look at the Weather Prediction Center's 3-day outlook that you begin to see how there will be a deluge of consecutive storm days. This is their outlook for Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
Thursday has a similar path for heavy rainfall in these storms.
But, wait, there's more. This is the risk of rainfall for Friday.
Finally, Ryan Hall shared the Weather Prediction Center's 168-hour outlook which shows that some parts of Missouri could see 10 or more inches of rain over the next week.
If you live anywhere in the southern third of Missouri or especially the boot heel, you need to be prepared for potential flash flooding events. It's all but certain that you will get heavy rain. The only real question is how much, but you can count on it being substantial.
