Missouri Weather Alert: 2 Days of Heavy Rain Ahead
This would be a good week to make sure you have at least a decent umbrella as Missouri faces at least two days where heavy rain is a possibility based on an updated forecast from national forecasters.
The NOAA/National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center has multiple days pegged for the chance of heavy rain in Missouri. This is what Tuesday, July 8, 2025 looks like on their just-updated map.
Fast forward to Friday, July 11, 2025 and the northern half of Missouri will once again have the chance of heavy rainfall.
Several things to note. When you see those marginal green areas over Missouri, that's the meteorologists indicating that there's a chance of rainfall exceeding flash flood levels within 25 miles of a point within those areas. What's more important to understand is the forecasters think a more serious rainfall event could develop. Here are their exact words from their discussion about Friday. I've cut down some of the weather nerd talk, but this will give you an idea of what's possible.
"There is also the potential for some higher rainfall over the Ozarks...could lead to some impressive convergence to enhance and temporally extend rainfall. At this time, confidence is not high enough for an upgrade, but this area will need to be monitored for a possible SLGT risk later"
I also noticed that Ryan Hall called out the very high dew points that will be over Missouri later this week which means a lot of moisture in the atmosphere.
The bottom line is to just be weather and rainfall aware several days this week in Missouri as the state could see big rain - again.
