When is the last time you can remember Missouri seeing heavy rain and not snow in December? At the very least, it's been a long time, but that's what you should prepare for this weekend as both rain and even some storms are expected to impact the state.

I've seen multiple meteorologists and YouTube weather personalities pointing to what the GFS computer model is showing for Missouri beginning Saturday. Direct Weather on YouTube showed this model map for Missouri around 9am on Saturday morning.

Evan Fryberger also showed the same model using Radar Omega and it also shows all of Missouri being drenched in rain Saturday.

My wife (the smart one in our relationship and meteorologist) says that she's seeing possibly even more than 1 inch of rain overall on Saturday. The good news is there does not appear to be a really organized storm system that will be a part of this, but it's very much possible that isolated strong thunderstorms could also pop up in the middle of this drenching.

The National Weather Service in St. Louis now agrees and says some places in Missouri could see an inch and a half of rain by Saturday night.

If you have holiday shopping plans on Saturday in Missouri, make sure your umbrella is nearby as you'll likely need it most of the day. It's going to be a wet December weekend for sure.
