Missouri Braces for Life-Threatening Heatwave

It would be a great idea to check on the status of your air conditioner now because Missouri is about to get blazing hot. Forecasters have already an extreme heat warning for parts of the state with the rest also expected to see dangerous temperatures.

The National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri just shared an update for what the state can expect beginning Friday, June 20 and continuing through the weekend. If you've been looking forward to heat indexes in the triple digits, you're in luck because that's what's happening this weekend.

The detailed bulletin from the National Weather Service shows what parts of Missouri have a heat advisory and others that are already in an extreme heat watch which includes all of the St. Louis area.

Looking at the forecast specifically for St. Louis, you'll see that expected highs through the weekend will top out at least in the upper 90's and that's just the temperature without taking into account the heat index.

No matter where you are in Missouri, prepare for dangerous heat this weekend. Hydration is your friend and managing your exposure to the sun will be important.
