Missouri Girl Missing for 5 Months Was Just Found in Colorado
It's not often that a missing child has a happy ending. Fortunately, one Missouri family has one now as a girl that's been missing since December has just been found in Colorado.
The Fort Collins, Colorado Police Department shared this stunning new development in the case of a missing Missouri girl just a few hours earlier today.
Since the Missouri girl is a juvenile, her name has not been released. Her alleged captor has now been charged with the following crimes:
- Class 2 Felony – 2nd Degree Kidnapping – Child
- Class 3 Felony – Sexual Assault on a Child – Pattern of Abuse
- Class 4 Felony – 2nd Degree Assault
- Class 5 Felony – False Imprisonment – Minor Locked in Room
- Class 1 Misdemeanor – Failure to Register as a Sex Offender – Incomplete Registration
- Class 2 Misdemeanor – Child Abuse
- Class 2 Misdemeanor – Harboring a Minor
- Class 2 Misdemeanor – Obstructing a Peace Officer
The Colorado man who's been charged with these crimes is a registered sex offender. He allegedly drove to Missouri in a rented car and met the girl, then drove her back to Colorado where she says that she's been held against her will and also made to work for the man's snow removal company.
The Fort Collins, Colorado Police say they will not be releasing new information as their investigation continues. The good news is the girl can now return home to Missouri to recover from this alleged abduction.
