Missouri Family Restaurant Closes After 11 Years
I hate to see any restaurant close, but especially so when it's a small Missouri family restaurant. That's unfortunately what's happened this week as one just closed its doors forever.
I just came across this share by the Monroe Family Restaurant located on US 24 in Monroe City, Missouri on their Facebook page.
According to their statement online, Ziggi and Tammi Latifoski closed Monroe Family Restaurant on March 1 and the building has been leased to another business that will work on remodeling for a couple of months before it opens in May. As they said in their share online, the restaurant opened back in 2015. They added in the comments that any outstanding gift certificates will be honored. I saw someone mention that a Domino's Pizza would be opening in that location, but can't confirm that at this time.
I don't know what the family's plans are moving forward, but I certainly wish them the best. It's not easy running a successful restaurant in 2026 and it's sad to see this one in Monroe City decide to call it a day.
