It was nice while it lasted. The "fake Fall" that has taken over Missouri for the past couple of weeks is about to exit temporarily as real summer heat will return soon.

It varies a little each year, but Missouri almost always sees a couple of weeks at the end of summer where the weather will pretend that it will cool off for the rest of the year only to duck out and hit us with another heat whammy. We're about to experience this again.

The National Weather Service in St. Louis has just issued an outlook for this week and you'll see the temperatures once we get to Friday look...familiar.

Those hot temperatures will not be a one and done experience either. As of this writing, the forecast calls for 90 degree (or hotter) highs in Missouri throughout the weekend. As a matter of fact, the NOAA Climate Prediction Center shows much warmer than average temperatures are expected in Missouri for almost the rest of September. Ouch.

If you look into early October, the warm temperatures STILL look like they'll be trying to hang on. Can someone buy a bus ticket to summer and send it packing, please?

Let's hope that once October arrives, Missouri will finally get some relief from the heat of 2025. My Missouri utility bill could use some help.
