Missouri Man Drops His Book – Nearly Lands on Angry Copperhead

There is some deep symbolism in what just happened to a Missouri man who was outside reading. He accidentally dropped his book only to learn that he had narrowly missed an angry copperhead snake under his feet.

I saw this harrowing video moment shared by Mark from Messler Outdoors on YouTube as a short. There's not a lot of context since it is a YouTube short, but I do know he was reading his Quest study Bible. He dropped it accidentally only to see a very much not pleased venomous snake coiled up and staring at him.

Not to get too biblical on you, but Genesis 3:15 immediately comes to mind about the head of the serpent being crushed. Luke 10:19 is another of the many snake references in the Bible. I won't spoil the ending for you (oh, yes I will), but it never ends well for the snake.

I fear that I'll get too preachy if I continue, so I'll end with this. That Missouri guy is much braver than me. If I had dropped a book only to find a very venomous (and ticked) copperhead underneath me, there likely would have been some screaming and perhaps a puddle to clean up later. Well done, brother.
