273 Missouri Dollar Trees About to See Massive Price Changes
Dollar Tree has announced some big changes and they will affect all 273 stores currently open in Missouri soon.
It used to be that you could go into any of the dollar stores in Missouri and you'd find lots of items that were only a dollar. That was part of the appeal. My how times have changed. Late this past week, Dollar Tree made an announcement in their quarterly earnings call to investors that will shake the price structure in all 273 Missouri Dollar Tree locations. Here are the bullet points:
- The dollar sections now include $3 and $5 areas
- Instead of 3 coolers, some stores will expand to up to 10 coolers for frozen items
- Price points will now jump up to $7
- They will try to maintain entry level price points of $1.25, but some items like dog food will jump to $5
- There is talk of introducing $10 price points to Dollar Tree stores
I'm no financial or retail expert, but the takeaway for Missouri Dollar Tree locations seems to be you will still see many $1.25 items, but more and more you'll see prices jump up to $7 and eventually $10 on new items they introduce into their stores.
While some of these price changes will be the result of inflation, it seems the spirit of the Dollar Tree earnings call that will affect all 273 Missouri locations is they want to start introducing more items at the higher dollar price points.
