Report Claims Missouri ‘a Sacrifice State’ During a Nuclear War
I think there's an argument to be made that there would be no good place to be if a nuclear war were to happen. That being said, there's a recent report that claims Missouri might be an especially unpleasant place to exist during an end of days conflict as the plan was for it to be a 'sacrifice state'.
I came across this interesting video shared by The Infographics Show which frequently shares graphical explanations of their topics. When I saw them say "these states were designed to be sacrificed in case of World War 3", I had a sneaking suspicion that included Missouri. I was correct.
Here's a synopsis of the plan they claim was/is real. The United States designed some states to be what they refer to as "a nuclear sponge". The strategy says that many nuclear silos and bases were placed in the middle of America and parts of the west also that were far from the larger population centers. Their belief is that an enemy be that Russia or China or all of the above would have to target hundreds of their missiles at these remote places leaving less to hit larger east and west coast cities.
Translation? They figure less populated parts of Missouri would take less lives if an all-out nuclear exchange took place. Here's the problem with this "strategy". Back to my original point that there would be NO good place to be if a nuclear war happened. If anything, it would make the survival of those on the east and west coast torture as most would perish from nuclear fallout anyway. In this scenario, being vaporized doesn't sound all that bad.
Let's hope all of these worst-case scenario nuclear war talk remains just that - talk and not a miserable non-survivable reality.
