I would agree with the song that says 'don't call it a comeback', but that's exactly what this is. A beloved department store is opening new stores again and there's a location in Missouri opening just days from now.

According to a new report from Cheapism, this empty building is about to not be empty. They say that Marshall's is opening new stores in an effort to expand their brick and mortar foot print and they'll be open in this Missouri location on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

It would appear that Marshall's is one of the chains that is taking advantage of other stores failing which makes empty buildings like this one available and likely more affordable than building a new Marshall's from the ground up. This new Missouri store is one of at least 18 new Marshall's that are about to open for business in states across the country. It seems that many shoppers are excited to have another new option.

You can tell that the retail landscape is changing. While online shopping continues to make it challenging for some traditional brick and mortar chains, the brands that have adapted to offer items at a discount seem to be flourishing in the midst of that. That's a good thing since it means more local jobs in Missouri being available where online options rarely make that happen.
