I have no doubt you've heard the phrase guilt by association. If applies to cities as well, then the new best place to live in Missouri should be concerned considering the fact that it's located very near what many consider the worst.

One of my favorite places rated sites, Homesnacks, has just updated their 10 best places to live in Missouri for this year. I enjoy their combination of sense of humor with more than a little snark with real facts about what a location is like. Their choice this year for Missouri is Glendale which is located here.

As they noted, Glendale is obviously a suburb of St. Louis which is ironic considering the metro area of the big city is widely viewed as not just one of the worst places to live in Missouri, but maybe on Earth. The good news about Glendale is their crime rate is very low compared to the rest of Missouri and definitely the greater St. Louis region. Homesnacks also called out the very low healthcare cost in this suburb, too. The cost of living in Glendale isn't for the faint of heart, but the median income of more than $170,000 more than makes up for it. Cha-ching.

The thing I love about Glendale is you're close enough to St. Louis to enjoy the many big events and sports things that happen there, but you're not living where the sound of gunshots is like white noise at night. It really is the best of both worlds in Missouri if you can afford it.
