These Missouri Towns Have the Largest Amish Communities
Missouri has become one of the states with the largest Amish population in America and several parts of the state are seeing these communities growing quickly with a half dozen locations being larger than the rest.
Because of the area in Missouri my family lives in, I see Amish families all the time. There are many of the buggy warning signs along many of our roads. I've always respected the fact that they follow their values strictly. You may or may not agree with their worldview, but you have to respect the fact that they are devout in what they believe and they walk their talk. Here are the Missouri places with the largest Amish communities in the state.

There are several other Amish communities in Missouri including:
- Stanberry
- La Plata
- Verona
- Versailles (known for Amish/Mennonite stores nearby)
What do the Amish really believe?
According to my understanding, the Amish believe in a literal interpretation of the bible and the priority of serving their community. You will see non-colorful attire as the Amish also demand humility and staying separate from the world. What many don't understand is that the Amish do sometimes use computers, but the difference is they're normally not connected to the internet to avoid the contact with that part of society. Some consider them fancy word processors necessary for some business and school use. It's a different lifestyle for sure, but I appreciate the fact that they've felt comfortable to call rural Missouri home. They have become a key part of the character of our state.
