Missouri Again in Danger of Strong Tornadoes Friday & Saturday
I thought the worst of it was over, but there is new data showing that Missouri is not out of the woods yet when it comes to severe weather as parts of the state are again in the region that could see strong tornadoes both Friday and Saturday.
NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has just upgraded the storm risk for much of the Midwest again with eyes on Friday and Saturday for potentially more explosive thunderstorm development.
This is the new map that the Storm Prediction Center just shared that shows many places in Missouri that had damaging tornadoes on Wednesday at risk again for twisters including Cape Girardeau.
The NOAA forecasters warn "this development should mature quickly into supercells capable of all severe hazards, including strong to intense tornadoes and very large hail".
While Friday is the main day of concern for the immediate future, Saturday also includes parts of Missouri in the severe storm risk area.
When you combine this with the catastrophic and possibly historic flooding that is expected in Missouri, you have a recipe for a dangerous weather weekend. Make sure you and yours are weather aware.
