The Missouri Jobs site has revealed that this plant in Milan now plans to cease operations which is confirmed by a WARN notice submitted to the state by Simmons Animal Nutrition. This is part of what it said:

"This letter is to inform you that Simmons Animal Nutrition, Inc. will be conducting layoffs of employees in connection with the closing of the facility located at 832 East Third St., Milan, MO 63556. This action with respect to these employees is expected to be permanent. Eventually, the entire facility will close."

The WARN notice goes on to say that the first layoffs will begin during a two-week period starting on January 31, 2026. There's no indication how many will be affected by the first layoff, but that 151 will eventually be impacted. The Missouri Jobs site says that this new mass layoff will bring the total let go in 2025 to 4,570 as of the date of this writing.
