For the first time in nearly a century, Hannibal’s Mark Twain Cave Complex is under new ownership.

Linda Coleberd, whose husband’s family owned the attraction since 1923, announced Wednesday the family has sold the complex to Todd and Austin Curry of Quincy.

The Curry’s have run the restaurant in the complex since 2015.

The Mark Twain Cave Complex includes both Mark Twain and Cameron Caves, a campground, winery, restaurant and shops.

Along with the city of Hannibal, the cave also celebrated its bicentennial last year. Also, the cave was in the news last summer when the signature of a young Sam Clemens was discovered on one of the cave walls.

A celebration of the change in ownership is planned.
