8 Homes in Illinois Destroyed by Twister Sunday-See the Video

A volatile day of weather in Illinois has brought along the sad news that at least 8 homes have been destroyed by a Sunday twister and there's video that shows the tornado when it first dropped from the clouds.

According to NOAA's Storm Prediction Center, there were 8 homes that were destroyed by a tornado in Macon County, Illinois today. Storm chaser Mikey Plemmons shared video of the twister as it touched down in a field just before it started impacting homes.

The detailed storm reports from the Storm Prediction Center said "Garage destroyed ... roof blown off a home and power lines down by a tornado...Significant structure damage to home from a tornado...8 homes destroyed by a tornado."

There were also numerous reports of hail and other wind damage. The National Weather Service will likely send survey teams to Macon County, Illinois to determine the final damage total and strength of the tornado that destroyed the homes. As this is a developing story, it will be updated once new information is released by authorities.
