It began when Mike decided he needed to pick up some hot dogs from the store. He also picked up a lottery ticket as an afterthought. That small decision led to him and his wife being helped by HGTV to find their dream vacation home in the Missouri Ozarks after he won $250,000.

David Bromstad is the host of My Lottery Dream Home on HGTV. Mike and Lori are originally from Iowa, but they always wanted a vacation home in the Lake of the Ozarks part of Missouri. Their episode was just shared by HGTV on YouTube. As you'll see, it was filmed during the cold weather months, but imagine these incredible vacation homes this time of year.

I have lost count of how many HGTV shows I've watched where the couple ends up way over budget. Credit to host David for helping this Iowa lottery winning couple find their dream home for more than $100,000 less than their budget. That's a rare HGTV moment. This episode proves that little decisions in life can make a big difference later. In this case it was Mike picking up a ticket when he bought hot dogs which resulted in a Lake of the Ozarks getaway his family can enjoy for years to come.
