Wanna Escape Society? Missouri Again is Best Off-the-Grid Option
There are a lot of good reasons to want to go off-the-grid, but not a lot of ways to do it in modern America. The good news is that Missouri does have a lot of ways for you to escape society and be completely self-sufficient and offers one of America's best options to make it happen.
This isn't just one new website ranking, but more of a consensus of many that have determined the best states in America to go off-the-grid if that's the lifestyle you want for yourself. There are two recent rankings for best off-the-grid states including Zendure and Utopia and both have Missouri at or near the top of their list of places to get away from it all.
Why is Missouri such a great off-the-grid place?
The experts that specialize in locations where you can live and be completely self-sufficient agree that Missouri's relaxed off-the-grid laws are key along with zoning possibilities and access to rural landscapes. Lenient homeschooling laws are also a plus for families that seek this kind of lifestyle.
Other pluses include Missouri's distinct 4 seasons which allow a long period for planting crops. Access to many rivers like the Mississippi and Missouri along with numerous streams make the state a great bug-out option. The fact that Missouri also has thousands of caves for a worst-case scenario in nearly every part of the state is something not many states can offer.
It's now possible to go off-the-grid, but still have access to internet anywhere thanks to satellite services making that easier than in previous times. If you have access to land and the know-how to build your own place, you could do a lot worse than choose Missouri for your off-the-grid life.
