Yes, St. Louis & KC Have Some of the Best Commutes
I would have shared this earlier, but I could not stop laughing. A new national report claims that if you want some of the best commutes in America, you need to be in St. Louis or Kansas City, Missouri. Really?
This is not the opinion of just one out-of-touch lone writer. It's the very reputable Consumer Affairs who have just ranked the metro areas with the best and worst commutes. The results for Missouri are surprising to say the least.
Here are the numbers shared about the allegedly pleasant commute experiences in St. Louis.
Kansas City's commute time is even more positive than St. Louis.
The source of this data, by the way, appears to be the US Census. Since when do we answer commute questions on the census? My memory isn't what it used to be. The results are even more staggering when you see that overall the rank St. Louis, Missouri as the 5th least congested drive in the nation. I am stunned. Have they never been to a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game or concert in the big city? Lack of congestion has never been my experience, but apparently I'm in the minority. As for KC, anytime I have travels that involve the cloverleaf interstate switches, I sweat bullets.
