I am embarrassed to admit that I'm a little surprised by this. It's not that a Missouri place was just named a best place to live, but which Missouri place that was named a best place to live is surprising to me. I'm also a little puzzled about how it received that nice honor for this year and next.

I think I may need to watch Back to the Future again so I can better understand how the admittedly smart people at US News and World Report can know that a Missouri city is a great place to live now and next year.

Before I delve into the possibilities of time travel, here's the good news. Kansas City, Missouri (note they didn't pick the part in Kansas for a good reason) came in at #52 as one of the best places to live in America. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce approve of this ranking.

Why did Kansas City, Missouri get chosen as a best place to live for this year and next? They say "Kansas City, Missouri, is no flyover cow town." Wow. That's a big compliment. I guess they decided to look the other way when it comes to increasing KC crime?

The new ranking from US News and World Report is for 2024 AND 2025 because they do their annual survey in February which means this ranking will carryover into early next year when they'll share the updated list. That's why we get current and projected goodness for Kansas City. It's a nice national shout-out regardless.
