I've been fortunate to be at a few speedboat events and I can tell you that it's exciting, but nothing I've seen can compare to new video that shows a Kansas City, Missouri speedboat team flip wildly, but live to tell about it.

I saw Jalopnik tell the story of what just happened at the 2025 Desert Storm Shootout in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. They say the Formula One Racing Team from Kansas City, Missouri were trying to break the 3/4 of a mile speed record. As their boat was traveling at over 200 mph, it suddenly began to lift and this is what happened next.

Arizona’s Family (3TV / CBS 5) on YouTube is reporting that the team members from Kansas City, Missouri miraculously suffered mild injuries including a few broken bones, but were in good spirits and doing fine now. They are so fortunate as Jalopnik says there have been 11 fatal speedboat crashes at this Arizona event since 1963.

Get this. The reports say that both Kansas City, Missouri team members have been joking around after the crash and did register first place even though they did not break the all-time speed record of 206 mph. Suffice it to say that they're glad to still be able to tell the tale of what they experienced. Their boat is still in decent shape remarkably, too.
