Reven N. Newbound, 30, and a juvenile, 7, both of Owensville, MO, died when the boat he was operating struck a root wad which resulted in the boat colliding with a rock bluff on the Gasconade River near Pointers Creek.
The totals for Labor Day Weekend 2024 were actually a slight improvement of the previous year when "15 people died and 477 were injured in 1,058 traffic crashes" according to the highway patrol.
