Winter weather is upon us and that has many of us dreaming of warm summer vacation ideas. Well, according to travel giant Conde Nast, if you are thinking about spending some time scuba diving when the weather is warm, you need to book a trip to Missouri.

According to cntraveler.com, Missouri's Bonne Terre Mine is one of the best places to scuba dive in the US. It is ranked on its list with places like the Underwater Museum of Art in Florida, Blackwater Diving in Hawaii, and Puget Sound in Washington. On the site they say...

"Any open water-certified diver can explore its 20-plus dive trails—averaging 40- to 60-feet deep with 100-foot-plus visibility—all of which are guided by experienced staff year-round...There aren’t animals in this crystal-clear, 60-degree underground sea; rather, you’ll float through passageways and past mine remnants. “It’s like going through a ghost town,” says owner Doug Goergens. The venue was once visited by Jacques Cousteau, who spent five days filming here in 1983."

Missouri is such a fascinating state. It has big cities like St. Louis and Kansas City, it has great little small towns like Hannibal, it has the midwest family Las Vegas with Branson, one of the best lakes in the world with the Lake of the Ozarks, and apparently a great scuba diving location, what does Missouri not have?
