KC vs. Philly Ballet: Who’ll Win the Super Bowl Dance-Off?
There has been a tradition between the cities of the teams squaring off in the Super Bowl to expand the competition beyond the game itself. Usually, this includes mayors of the city betting a large supply of the hometown cuisine (ex: Kansas City = BBQ and/or Philly = Cheese Steaks) against the other. Sometimes even State Governor’s get involved in the fun.
The Kansas City Ballet however has gotten in to the act again this year. Last year they sent out a challenge video to the San Francisco Ballet that racked up big numbers of views online. This year the KC Ballet sent out their challenge video to the Philadelphia Ballet to an online dance off.
Both troupes will post their super dance performance on their social media pages and the people will decide who came up with the best routine and who executed it best. No coin flip, no whistles, no refs, no replay. Just pirouettes, chasses, releves, and jetes!
Both these teams have danced with opponents for seventeen weeks plus several weeks of shimmying and hopping to make to the grand finale of this football season dance. Gather yourself, bring all that you have left, as it all comes down to Super Sunday.
