According to Worlds of Fun, the delay of the opening was called because the park is still working through final testing and prep work for the new coaster.

Worlds of Fun has announced it is delaying the grand opening of Zambezi Zinger as the park works through final ride testing and prep work on the new roller coaster. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to announcing the new date once testing is complete.

There has been no word on when the grand opening will take place. This coaster may be brand new to Worlds of Fun, but it's a remake of a coaster that used to be in service. The original coaster was called part of the Zambezi Adventure Safaris which went out of business just before the turn of the century. According to worldsoffun.com,

the Zinger was thought to have gone extinct. They recently reopened their doors after new evidence suggested the Zinger had returned to the area. The company now takes guests on thrilling excursions to explore these famously hallowed woodlands so travelers may once again experience the legend of the Zinger!

Watch a sneak peek at what the new coaster will be like once it opens. As soon as a grand opening date is released we will let you know.
