The history of the former church is fascinating. It was first opened back in the early 1890s and expanded in 1908. There was a massive fire that almost shut the church down completely, but the member of the congregation rallied to rebuild the church and stayed until the 1950s. For the next 50 years, the church changed hands from different congregations with the final congregation moving and closing the doos in 2005.

A developer bought the building with plans to turn the building into a multi-family dwelling and that did not go over well with the neighbors and fell through. After that, the building seems to just sit for years with a portion of the roof caving in, and significant water damage, and there was a fear that the building would be demolished.

That's when St. Louisans Bill and Maureen saved the building and turned it into a luxury B&B. It took two years to bring thing beautiful building back to life and I have to say just by looking at the pictures it looks amazing. Renamed the Tuxedo Park STL Bed & Breakfast you can now book a room.

The before and after photos are amazing to see where the building was and the transformation it took to get to where it is today. I wish we could save all of these buildings in danger of being torn down no matter where it is. There is just so much history in all of these buildings are they are slowly disappearing from Mother Nature and neglect., If you get a chance stay at the Tuxedo Park B&B.
