Looks like there will be no public pool in Quincy opened this summer.

The Quincy Park District announced yesterday that the Indian Mounds Pool season will be cancelled for 2020, in order to keep everyone safe from COVID-19. It's sad to see this not open, but the Illinois Department of Public Health is recommending that all pools and splash pads in the state of Illinois remain closed for the summer.

The Park District also announced that Youth Soccer, Baseball, Softball, T Ball, 3 on 3 Basketball, and Sand Volleyball all have been cancelled for the spring and summer. There is good news, the batting cages, mini golf, and paddle boats will open on May 30th.

So there still will be plenty of activities to do this summer that the park district of offering. From pickle ball (which I really need to try), and nature programs, fishing clinics, and home run derby, there is plenty to do this summer while practicing social distancing.
