Business is business and layoffs have no emotions for those affected. Sadly, that's the case for 92 Missouri workers who just learned they will be jobless after a contract has been terminated at a major facility.

According to the Missouri Jobs site, 92 workers will be laid off starting in September at ImageFirst Healthcare Laundry Specialists located at 2030 South Broadway in St. Louis.

The WARN notice shared with me by the state of Missouri says ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists had an exclusive contract with Barnes Jewish Hospital. The hospital has decided to move all of its laundry services in-house which has resulted in the contract termination that led to this layoff. The notice says that there will be staggered layoffs over a 4-week period beginning on September 8, 2025 with another on September 29, 2025 and also October 27, 2025, November 24, 2025 and the final cutback on December 31, 2025.

According to what was submitted to the state, none of the workers are represented by a union and the layoffs are expected to be permanent. The notice does say that workers pay will remain the same during this period, but hours might change due to company needs. The notice was submitted to the state of Missouri and also the mayor's office in St. Louis.
