12 Vintage Illinois Plates—Some Date Back 100+ Years

I don't know about you, but I've had my share of Illinois license plates over my many years behind the wheel. I have found some retro license plates in the Land of Lincoln and some date back more than a century.

I decided to get in the DeLorean and get that bad boy up to 88 mph to travel back in time to locate some epic retro Illinois license plates. OK, so what I really did was just browse eBay for some throwback Illinois license plates that are available right now. Here are some of my favorites starting with the oldest first beginning with one that began its existence in 1916.

There are a lot more Illinois plates available on eBay than I have shared here. No, you can't buy one and slap it on your vehicle without having a very not fun conversation with one of Illinois State Police's finest. But, you sure can display them in your man or woman cave. That would be a great way to display your old school Illinois street cred.
