3 Illinois Places Most Likely to End You or Rob You Blind in 2025

I tend to stay away from people that are overdramatic, so what I'm about to share feels more than a little bit hypocritical. There are 3 places in Illinois that stand a better than average chance of either ending you and/or robbing you blind. It's nothing personal, just scientific data.

Before anyone in these 3 Illinois places decides to throw a hissy fit tirade my way, this is NOT my list. Personally, I actually like one of these places a lot, but if I don't include what the numbers say, it won't be fair to the other Illinois cities that actually deserve the shame. The data comes from Safe Home who have listed the 3 Illinois cities most likely to end your life and those with the biggest chance your place will get robbed.

Here are the 3 places in Illinois with the highest violent crime rates:

Chicago Heights

Danville

Rockford

Those 3 have the highest crime rates in Illinois. For the record, I like Rockford a lot and have never felt unsafe there, but I admittedly don't get out as much as I used to. Danville and Chicago Heights? Yeah, you both very much deserve this. Even some of my family who used to live in Danville would probably begrudgingly agree.

It's not all about life and limb, though. Here are the 3 Illinois places with the highest property crime rates:

Rosemont
Cherry Valley

Here's something I find a bit ironic. The 6 Illinois places with the highest violent and property crime rates are only about an hour from the 6 Illinois cities with the lowest violent and property crime rates.
