If you have recently picked up baby food at an Illinois Target store, you should know about an urgent recall that has been issued after a disturbing discovery about lead in some of the products.

According to the bulletin from the Food and Drug Administration, this voluntary from Illinois Target stores is voluntary. It states that the following baby food at Target has been recalled due to an "elevated level of lead".

The FDA recall bulletin says that Good & Gather baby Pea, Zucchini, Kale & Thyme Vegetable Puree with a UPC code of 1 91907-99314 1 and a Best By date of December 7 or December 9, 2025. The Lot numbers are 4167 and 4169 and includes more than 25,600 units. It says this is a Class-II level recall which is good news as that means it has a lower chance of causing real injuries or death.

What should you do if you find you have this Target baby food?

You can return it to the Target where you purchased it or discard it. It should not be consumed under any circumstances if it matches the lot numbers and best by dates.
