Millions in Illinois are seeing a concerning message on their phones that's yellow and there's a good reason for you not to ignore it if you see it.

I have used both iPhones and Android phones and appreciate the advantages of each. I am now currently in the Android world and heard talk about many in Illinois wondering what they were seeing on their phones that use the Google Play Store. After doing some digging, I found out what's going on.

The Sun is reporting that millions of Android phones are seeing a yellow warning box near some apps they're trying to install. I've also heard some are seeing brown warning boxes. It may depend on your device color settings, but this is what it looks like.

If you see this warning, it means you're about to install an app that may be unstable or even be fraudulent with a majority uninstalling it. That's a warning that you should think twice before proceeding with the install option.

Reports that literally millions of Illinois phones getting this message is nothing to be alarmed about. It's a helpful new tool that Google has deployed to allow their users to police untrustworthy apps.

I've also encountered some Android apps that are very difficult to uninstall. What you don't want is a problematic app that won't go away.
