
Manhunt: Illinois Police Seek Suspect After Officer Shot
The Illinois State Police are urgently hunting for a suspect who's believed to have been a part of the shooting of an officer in Granite City and they're asking for the public's help in locating this individual and bringing him to justice.
UPDATE: Yahoo reporting that the suspect is now in custody.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Illinois State Police just announced the search for a suspect in the shooting of a Granite City police officer. The Granite City Police were responding to a call in the 2000 block of Johnson Road in Granite City on December 5, 2025 when they encountered 26-year-old DJ Marshall of Granite City who allegedly pulled out a firearm and fired several shots striking one officer. The officer fortunately survived and is reportedly now in stable condition. The suspect fled the scene.
The Illinois State Police along with aerial and K9 units are searching for Marshall with the assistance of the Granite City Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office and numerous law enforcement personnel.

The Illinois State Police warn that Marshall should be considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach him if you identify him. Instead, contact the Granite City Police Department at 618-877-6111 ext. 3 or call 911 if you consider the situation an emergency.
