Science Says Illinois Now One of the Loudest States in America
I blame Chicago. I could start out a lot of statements with that. There's a new scientific study that claims Illinois is one of the loudest states in America and I'm looking squarely at the Windy City for this one.
Study Finds just dropped a new ranking about how noisy America is and specifically each of the offending states. I was really shocked to see that Illinois is now a top 10 state for loud noises - #8 to be exact.
I think the original study was done by Winston Beds which measured urban density which is why I don't understand why Illinois as a state got called out instead of just Chicago proper. Think about it. If you've spent any time in the rural parts of Illinois, there are few places more peaceful. That gives you an idea of how loud Chicago really is. It's so loud it can make an entire state that's really rather quiet show up on the loudest states list. All of the vendors at the Cubs games are living proof of extreme modulation.
We heard you the first time.
As for the rest of the top 10, New Jersey takes the top spot for loudest state in America unsurprisingly. In a real upset, Illinois is now ranked higher than New York for volume. Imagine that.
