Everyone who loves to hate on Illinois will despise this. A suburb in the Land of Lincoln was just named the 5th best place to live in America.

Niche has just released their very prestigious best places to live in America list and this Illinois place is ranked near the top at #5 in the United States. This is Clarendon Hills which is a suburb of Chicago. If you're familiar with that part of the state, you know that Clarendon Hills is just down the road from Downers Grove and is in the heart of the Windy City. I noticed something else in the Niche rankings and that's the fact that not only is Clarendon Hills a top 5 place to live, they rank it as the #1 suburb in all of America.

Why all the fuss about Clarendon Hills, Illinois?

The ranking praises this small suburb for most of the residents owning their homes with ample restaurants, coffee places and a plethora of parks. This community of just over 8,000 residents also are rated highly for safety with a low crime rate. The local school options are also elite. This completely defies the narrative that Illinois is a rotten place to live and residents are fleeing in droves. Illinois a top place to put down roots in America. What a concept.
