Above all, the holiday season is a time to help those less fortunate. One local group is doing just that with a new initiative in downtown Quincy.

On November 18th, the community is invited to participate in "Scarves for the Homeless" in Washington Park. Visitors are asked to simply tie a scarf around a tree (or post, or bench, or sign...whatever) for anyone who might need one to stay warm as temperatures drop. The scarves can be new or gently used. Just a simple gesture could mean so much for someone who needs it.

If you like, you can also attach a kind note to the scarf for the recipient wishing him/her a happy holiday season.

If you would like to help, just bring a scarf downtown and attach it to a tree. And if you are in need, do take one while they last. For more details about the Scarves for the Homeless Event, click here.
