If you've dealt with trying to find something you've lost, you know it's often found in the least place you expect. That was the case for a historic boxcar that has been missing for 76 years that has now been found in Missouri.

The United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey shared this boxcar revelation on their Facebook/Meta page explaining what happened to a boxcar that has been unaccounted for since 1949. It's been on quite a journey.

As the story goes, the railroad boxcar that was originally in New Jersey was tracked down to Tennessee who then sent it to Kansas City, Missouri for safe keeping. Now, there is an effort to return it to New Jersey where it began its American experience.

I have a soft spot in my heart for railroads. One of the best experiences of my life was a ride on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad in Colorado which I cannot recommend highly enough. These big iron horses are from a different era and seeing this old boxcar begin its journey home is fascinating to me and hopefully you, too.
