Hannibal Among Missouri’s 6 Most Comfortable Towns for Seniors
If you're a senior citizen looking for a comfortable place to spend your twilight years, you should consider Hannibal as it was just named one of the 6 most comfortable towns in the state for those who are in their later years.
This is the view of downtown Hannibal that most seniors need according to a new national ranking
Many know that I was born and raised in Hannibal, but this praise is not from me. It's a new ranking shared by World Atlas which said Hannibal is one of the most comfortable places for seniors. I will admit that I chuckled a little bit when I saw this, but that's probably because I'm naturally snarky. They decided Hannibal is a great place for seniors because of the history which isn't wrong. Yes, the Mark Twain Boyhood Home, Becky Thatcher, Huck Finn and all the other historical aspects of Hannibal are nice, but I don't make the connection to the life of senior citizens as far as repeated visits. They do add that the winery and many theatrical presentations give those in their later years things to do at night is spot on and the many beautiful Mississippi River views downtown and Riverview Park don't hurt either.
I am still a big fan of Hannibal. As my hometown has changed over the years (as all places change), it's not everyone's cup of tea and that includes seniors. That being said, this is a nice shoutout for Hannibal and we need more of that.
